Hi everyone! I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend. It was gorgeous in New Hampshire- finally hitting our first 65+ degree day! Spring is offically here to stay, and I couldn’t be happier about it.
Of course, with spring comes the infamous spring cleaning rituals. Cleaning out the closets, sprucing up the garage, wiping down the windows… You know, all the fun stuff! My place is due for a good deep clean, and I’m using the most effective non-toxic cleaning essentials to get the job done right.
Here are 5 of the best non-toxic cleaning essentials (that actually work):
- Steam Mop:
- A steam mop is an excellent alternative to a traditional floor cleaner. Standard floor cleaners, like Swifter mops, can expose our bodies to lingering chemical residues, which is why I prefer a sanitizing steam mop. They are completely chemical-free; they kill germs, lift dirt, and sanitize with only heat and steam.
- All-Perp by Squeak:
- This all-purpose cleaner is safe for your family, kids, and pets. It can be used on countless surfaces, including wood and carpet. I love that it is fragrance and chemical-free and uses a variety of essential oils.
- TrulyFree Laundry Detergent:
- I know laundry detergent can be a tough one. I’ve tried seemingly every “clean”, “sensitive-skin”, “fragrance-free” detergent you can find at the local supermarket. I’ve never discovered one that does the job quite like Truly Free. It is effective, smells great, and leaves my clothes feeling soft. I order it from their website, and they usually have some pretty great deals.
- Vinegar-Based Glass Cleaner:
- You can buy it, or you can make it at home! Dilute 1/4 cup vinegar with 2 cups water and 1 tsp of dish soap. This solution leaves a streak-free finish and helps to prevent mold growth!

- This professional-style duster is affordable, sustainable, and helps promote good air quality. Say goodbye to those single-use Swiffers!
